Why PlayStation 3 is better than Xbox 360

Back in the PS2/Xbox/GCX days it was all about the games, but since my favorite games have all gone multi-platform the console wars have become a bit more complicated. However, I still go for my favorite gaming console here, lemme lay it down for ya:

Blu-Ray: Some people might argue that you can download HD movies on the 360 but so can the PS3. Blu-ray not only gives you the option to to watch blu-ray discs if you so choose, it also does so much more for the PS3. Since the discs have much more storage, games require less discs than their 360 counterparts. Also, blu-ray is region free, which means you can import games and media and play them straight on your state-side bought PS3. Unless I'm mistaken, PS3 is the only video game console to ever be region free. I remember when you had to have some sort of mod-chip to play games from Japan over here.

Upgradable Harddrive: While the 360 offers HDD's up to 250 gigs, if you want to go any higher than that you have to modify the Xbox, voiding your warranty. The PS3 allows you to replace the HDD without voiding the warranty, allowing you to get a much bigger disk-space at a much cheaper price, as well as letting you choose which kind of HDD you want in there. 500 GB, even Terabyte harddrives are available for cheaper than the  250 GB $130 HDD's offered by Xbox.

Bluetooth: Bluetooth allows you to use a multitude of wireless compenents with the PS3. Not just mics, but keyboards, mice, as well as any other bluetooth devices you can think of.

The controller: PS3 controllers have a nifty internal battery pre-installed, have a decent charge time and last a good-while. 360 rechargable battery packs cost extra money, take all day to charge and don't even last too long. Ok this next point is my own opinion, but the 360 D-pad sucks. I often find that it registers the wrong direction or gives me a diagonal when I don't want it. Who made that thing anyways?

Xbox Live isn't worth it: To play games online on the 360, you gotta pay a monthly fee which, I might add, connects you to the same internet and connects you to player-hosted games, just the same as PS3 games except, PS3 doesn't charge you that pointless fee. Also, Xbox is trying to create some sort of monopoly in online gaming and doesn't want any online games connecting to servers outside of their own. They screwed themselves with this and this is why they're not getting Final Fantasy XIV. Heh, dicks.

Wi-Fi: Ok the new 360's are finally coming with wi-fi built-in, but before you had to pay an extra $100 bucks for a USB device that probably wasn't incredibly reliable.

As you can see, the PS3 is all-in-all a much more capable console. Why would you go with anything less?

Companies that Like to Rip People Off

And on today's episode of Companies that Like to Rip People off we take a look at cell phone companies!

Question: Can cell phone companies make it so their phones can make calls through a Wi-Fi connection, giving people more bars when bars aren't available, saving people minutes, and just down-right making things easier on people?

Answer: Probably, there are already tons of Voice Over IP solutions out there. I don't  see why cell phones can't join the bandwagon.

The real question: Will cell phone companies make Wi-Fi calling available on their phones?

The real answer: Probably not. In fact, AT&T has already made a device which connects to an existing network to broadcast cell phone waves to your phone. That means it connects to a faster, more-reliable connection to connect you to a slower, less-reliable connection. Why make things convenient for your customers when you can make a useless device that makes you more money?

Side-notes: Ok ok, I believe there are apps to make wi-fi calls (Skype comes to mind), but I just felt the need to rant about how much I hate cell phone companies and their over-priced services. Why you lookin' at me like that? Huh?!

And for my first post, drumroll please...

...wut?
